Finally
someone has given this man his dues. He was truly indeed the
greatest vocalist to come out of Houston, Texas
and the direction he took the Tejano
music to. He demanded no more than perfection in all
that he did. I can tell you that from personal
experience I was there. He will never be forgotten.
I
remember asking my dad, what does that mean? He said, it
is a place where you never cry...

The 1960's
brought
a new fusion of cultures and musical taste, Ranchero vs. Jaitón,
Mexican/Latin vs. American, Conjunto vs.
Orquesta and simple vs. sophisticated, with
rock
and roll and country on the rise, music performers such as Little
Joe, Paulino
Bernal, Neto Perez, and Rocky Gil and the Bishops,
added nuances of jazz, rock and roll, country, R&B, and a Chicano political
consciousness, to their own blend of Tejano music. Hope you
enjoy the long awaited dedication to the late great Rocky Gil,
still known as one of the greatest Tejano Singers ever !
