To us native Tejanos our music is our culture the music is the most beautiful mixture of Mexican, German and Rock & Roll. No one does it better, and no one did it better than Rocky Gil. From the our very first rehersals early in 1961 I could tell that he was destined for greatness. I said it then, that he had the purest most beutiful voice in all of Tejano music and probibly all genres. Who else but Rocky could belt out a ranchera, a soul song, a country song, and a rock & roll all in one set and do it just as well if not better than the Super Stars of each genre. As we began performing live throughout Texas I was amazed at his performances he kept getting better and better and making the band ever more popular with each performance. That\\\'s why I can say he was the best singer, best performer with the most beautiful voice in all of Tejano Music. And that\\\'s why I can also say  if there\\\'s a \\\"Tejano Music Heaven\\\" then you know he has a \\\"Hell of Band\\\".
