Hello, I came across this site by chance looking
for songs by Rocky. |
|
|
| I am 45yrs old. As a child, my father, a
musician, played Rocky's album and the songs So Cruel,
and A Place in the Sun
often. At the time he was heartbroken and going through
a divorce with my mother. Sadly, he passed after the
divorce when I was 16. And I am sure of a broken
heart. I know, when I used to wake up, when I was about
11, and heard these songs, he was in pain. I miss him.
When I hear Rocky singing these songs, it brings the
memory of my father a little closer to me. Even though
it was a sad time in his life, I only knew, it as drying
my daddies eyes and telling him don't cry daddy, its ok,
mama still loves you. What did I know at that age. I
just know, that, I awoke to his tears and playing of the
guitar to these songs, It made him smile and feel a
little better and made him smile for the moment. |

| Till this day, when I hear A Place in the Sun. I
remember asking my dad, what does that mean? He said, it
is a place where you never cry, and where everyone is
always happy.. I liked that answer, and so he would
carry me to my room and put me back in bed. Most of
these night were school nights. My two sisters were
always asleep and my mom was at work, or should of
already been home. Most nights at that time she was very
late. Need I say
more. Susan |
